I haven't made a topic in quite awhile so I thought it was time I did so anyaways as you all know, I'm real fascinated with the paranormal. If you have any interesting stories (experienced or heard) that you'd like to share then here's the place to post them. Thanks!
I would've posted a topic on Alien Encounters but I feel that one would've had less postage on there than ghost encounters, as to ghosts are more commonly found. If you know any feel free to post.
I just got back from a concert venue that was converted from a funeral home. I've read a story or 2 about weird happenings there (someone using the bathroom and hearing someone using the stall next to them only to notice there was nobody there) but nothing abnormal happened to me. Maybe next time. Show was good though.
I've heard of a building somewhere that was once used as a fort or something during the Civil War, and if you go in there, you can hear footsteps and voices.

Anything interesting happend to you and your groupies GeniusJ? I always wanted to investigate the paranormal, like I'd like to investigate some happenings at my parents house, that I myself and what my mom experienced while alone in the house.
I've been over on several occasions when no one was home and I'd hear footsteps, in the house. I'd also hear noises from different rooms in the house in which when I walk into those rooms nothing has been moved around. Everyone once in awhile I'll faint whispering, can't make out what the spirit is saying.
I have a strong feeling it is a male spirit though, I've known about these happenings for a very long time but I blew it off even while living at home while still going to school, only because i didn't want to be labeled a "freak".
I didn't know my mom had any experiences til she saw me watching something on ghosts and that's when she told me about her experiences.
I've no idea why this spirit haunts my parents house butI think he needs to move through the gates to the heavens where he belongs.

No, I know it wasn't anywhere where I live. can't remember its exact location They only show those haunted buildings and stuff like that on the History Channel around Halloween, right?
No, I've seen shows about Hauntings come on year-round, like on the Discovery Channel there's a show called "A Haunting" that comes on. Sci-fi has a show called "Ghost Hunters", that comes on every now and then. Travel channel has "Wierd Travels - sometimes showing hauntings" and of course there's "Most Haunted" which I watch every Friday night.
Halloween I bet they show stuff like this in a mass, which I can't wait for next Halloween. LOL

That's really cool, Ganondorf, that you watch most haunted. I watch it every Friday too. I'm very interested in the paranormal, but I've only experienced very little. My school was a residential school, and sits on what used to be a planntation. I remember going to one of the down stairs girl's bathroom, and would hear, on more than one occasion, very heavy breatheing. A couple of times I would get brave and check all the stalls, but I would find no one. Also, if you had to go to the clinic at night for meds. You would have to walk threw the school with it almost completely dark. Some times I heard footsteps behind me. I was sure it wasn't a actual person, because everyone was gone all for save security.
Who, creepy. lol
That'd scare the shit out of me right there. The footsteps I hear time to time at my parent's house creeps the shit out of me, knowing that someone you can't is lurking about. It's like being blind but with vision.
I always thought about going in there with a camera to take some shots, I may post the results on MySpace so yall can see them, that is if I decide to do this. I may very be further creeped out if I do so.
well when you investigate and you hear it, it may freak you out but I will investigate unless it gets volient.
gosh, i haven't had many nasty experiences with the paranormal, apart from the fact that the school i used to attend was built on a hanging site and it was said the old headmistress used to haunt the house i was in. i never heard or saw anything though. oh, and where my fiance lives, that was built somewhere, like a grave yard etc, but honestly can't remember. well, i was in bed one morning and felt someone stroking my hair. i put my hands up fast, but, couldn't feel anything. i checked to see if it was my fiance, but he was asleep, so i know it definitely wasn't him.

I got out of the shower one night and as soon as I stepped out I got slapped on the arm. I have enough vission to tell that no one was there. I went in to my mom to get something and she said that I had fingerprints on my arm.
my grandma used to tell me stories of when she worked at a restaurant that was haunted. she said someone pulled her dress once, and she thought it was one of her co-workers, only to find out no one was there. another one: when I was little, I was standing by the back porch, and my grandma was behind me. she looked out the window and said she saw a shape forming like the virgin mary. i'm not religious at all, simply telling the story.
Chris this sounds like stuff they show on Sci Fi! Sometimes I think some one is standing behind me! But there's no one there! Sometimes I think I hear someone saying my name! I'll ask my mom and she'll say it wasn't her! Once my cousin Phyllis said she saw a Native American woman behind me! My dog Daisy will growl at nothing!
I have a few stories about aliens and one about a ghost.
I'll stick with the ghost encounter. Well one day, I was with my brother and sitter outside of a rented house and I heard gunshots. My brother heard them I think because He freaked out. I later found out that someone got shot with a shotgun on axident in the back yard. Also, I don't know if this was the ghost or not, but the light in my room almost never worked. The only reason I think the ghost did that was it needed energy so it grabbed some so to speak from the electric power system. This was proven when several blackouts happened in a few minutes. It was weird. I wasn't scared because I dealt with aliens before that, although not directly.
Oh, and the only reason I know the light was off is because I've got some light perception and my brother was always trying to fix it. He never succeded, although it did work sometimes.
i've had a few encounters myself, mainly dealing with hearing sounds and having nothing there, but there was one where i know i felt animal, but there wan not one around

I've had stuff thrown at me by nothing, been sitting in a empty room and would be choked.
Damn, those are either vengeful ghosts or just plain evil ones. I did forget to mention that I tried "channeling" into the energy of the ghost I talked about, but the ghost was not really evil, sad though. Didn't get much else.
I thought of another one. when I visit my grandma, sometimes i'll smell cigarettes (my grandpa died in 1989 and was a smoker). he only does it when certain people are around, though.
Interesting stuff indeed. Jess yeah I've to the Texas School for the Blind and was told of several hauntings, one haunting at Dorm C and Dorm F there's probably others but it's been a long time since I heard of these. I only remember the Dorm ones.
All I remember is at Dorm F the night RI (Residential Intructor) would hear noises like footsteps coming from the halls and whispers, of course everyone is asleep so who else would be making noise?
I rmember staying in Dorm F on one of many summer programs there and I was a collector of Power Ranger toys (Yes so shoot me, I liked them at one point in time). Anyways I left one of them toys out and left the room and when I came backt hat thing was demolished, unfixable. My roommate was gone for the weekend and the door was shut so I know it wasn't anyone from the Dorm. That was first real encounter I had til I moved intot he house where my parents are living now.
Dorm C is said that a young girl died and will push you down the stairs or something like that or that was what I was told.
I'm still going to take some photos at my parents house to see if I get shapes of figures or some orbs, I think that'd be cool to have. Aftert all the years we lived int hat house I'm greatful the spirit caused no harm but the question still remains. Why is he still around? My detailed info on this spirit, I gave in one of my previous posts so I won't re-type it.
GeniusJ that's pretty scary having shit thrown at you like that and choked oblicously your not wanted there. You got to be careful with them kind, it may be domonic.
Avator of Agony that's some pretty crazy stuff, and the light not working and all, I hope the spirit doesn't beome violent thpugh sometimes spirits will get attack you when you let your guard down thinking they aren't violent. Keep a close eye on this stuff.
Yes Hope dogs can sense the paranormal is probably why Daisy barks at nothing, that theory is proven from so many shows I've watched. Kids can do the same which is really scary for the parents. Watch A Hanting in Georgia Parts 1 and 2 and you'll see what I mean. Also try and catch A Haunting: Demon Child. They all come on the Discovery Channel, if I see they next come on I'll let you know.

Chris, yeah there was also a room in dorm c where a girl had supposedly died, because it used to be like a health center in some war, and apparently, this girl liked to paint. So anyway, before she died, she painted a rainbow on the window, and apparently, if you ever try to wipe off the rainbow, it'll come back. Also, the rec center had some hauntings as well. One other thing I remembered is in the pool, if you were swimming, sometimes you'd get mysteriously pulled underwater for a bit, it was really scary...
I am so fucking glad no one mentioned the spirit in the pool building cuz I went there every damn chance I got and if I known that we can very well say I wouldn't like going swimming there anymore. LOL
Luckily I never got pulled under. (Thanks the Lord)
A friend told me a story yesterday I should post. Anyway, his brother and him were in a vacant room when something was thrown at his brother's head. My friend barely caught it in time. Supposedly 3 days later His grandmother died because of a bulet in the same room. there were no buletholes in the walls but there was a gun laying on the floor. Cops chect for dna and found none. They did notice slight burns on the metal. The gun was in there basement. (Note: they were in California at the time.) Strange.
Umm... wow! That is one violent son-of-a-bitch spirit, that's sad the spirit took his grandmother's life, I'd get the Hell away from there before someone else dies. Spirits are not to be taken to lightly.
Wow, this shit's starting to creep me out. My brother once sneezed in the hall, and could swear he heard a voice in my room say, "bless you." It wasn't me, and we've lived in this house since it was built. scary
That is wierd, if it came from your room, I'm surprised you didn't hear it, but spirits make themselves known to certain people, or that's what I hear.

Well I'm not sure why you want to be known by spirits you should consider yourself lucky but there is a way to to talk to them if you think there's one lurking about in your house and that's through an ouija board.
WARNING: A bit of caution when using an ouija board you may accidently make a gateway for other spirits to enter your home. There's no telling what kind of spirits these may be, that's why I'd never go about using one of these boards. Remember what curiousity killed... just a friendly bit of advice.
The question you asked I honestly don't have an answer for, I believe that question is still a mystery to majority of the hauntings that many of the paranormal investigaters take on.
I dont recommend the usage of a Ouija Board, as in the abov post and on the word of all ghost hunting groups, we all say do not use one.
Hope I'm sorry I totally forgot to answer your question anyways, to Daisy the spirit is a real person to her so she sees the spirit as a stranger in your home, she may feel threatened by the spirit is why she barks. What you may do is call he when she starts and pet her to confort her to let her know things are okay.
Another way of communitcating with a spirit is through EVP probably a safer method than the Ouija Board.
Do you have to have vision to be able to use one of those?
I once heard that there is a haunted house in Lake Whales florida. I saw it on unsolved mysteries.
Ouija Board
If your talking about an Ouija Board then yeah you don't need vision to use it all you have to do is just place your hand on the planchette, a small 3-legged device with a hole in the middle or a pointer. However you do need someone to read the responses to you, if you get any.
You can ask questions and if you get a response the planchette will move on it's own to letters to spell a name or or to words on the board such as "Yes" or "No".
Like I myself and GeniusJ have said it's not recommended, you had a fair warning on this deal. If youd ecide to go about using one of these.

EVP - Electronic Voice Phenomena are basically played back recording a recorder all you do is basically as question as with Ouija Board. Make sure pause in between the questions to give the spirit a chance to answer if you get any?

That's cool Nymphadora and that's good to hear Avatar of Agony, I'm glad a spirit didn't make it's way into your home that would've been bad. I still don't recommend using one though just in case one does happen to come through.
No the Ouija Board isn't safe, your just asking for a demonic spirit to make it's way into your home. I doubt anyone wants that now do they?

It's amazing the things that dogs can pick up on.
And little kids and that's scary like said for the parents. At first the parents will think the kids are talking to an imaginary friend but soon later to find out it's actually a spirit. Thoise I mentioned above are perfect examples of what I'm talking about.
Actually it's scary cuz in Part 1 of A haunting in Georgia the dog of the family turns up missing, which is believed to be te doing of an evil spirit.
Another thing about spirits is that they can manipulate one's mind like one minute you can be fine and then one minute later you'll feel a sudden outburst of saddness or hatred. This happens for no reason whatsoever. This depends ont eh spirit your dealing with however.
That comment on little kids picking up on spirits in the house reminds me of this movie I saw on Lifetime Movie Network, called Imaginary Playmate. It scared the shit out of me.

Yes but it is rare, most of time you'll get spirits of young and elderly men and women, children, babies (the spirits of children even babies saddens me goes to show you how fucked up society is), and demons (which are the kind no ones wants to come in contact with)
Demons don't appear as human being would sometimes you'll see a dark figure sometime faceless with hooves and horns, you feel the presents should you ever come in contact with one.
When one is near the room temperature will drop to freezing temperature which is a good indicator that something is about to happen either to you or shoever is with you.
Nlessing your home is somewhat a bad idea because it angers the spirit because they don't want to cross over for whatever reason they may have to remain here in our world.
An exorcism is the only way to rid you of any spirits incluing demons (however momentarily sometimes exorcisms don't affect demons meaning they may return months later). Demons from what i seen are hard fuckers to get rid of.
Most of the "A Haunting" shows I watch people end up leaving their home because of this. However if you happen to be a median escaping the spirit world is futile, if you have that special gift you'll always see spirits no matter where you run off to.
normal spirit don't loser the room's temperature there is no warning for when they do anything, you just got to be prepared for anything.

For instants we got our ashes back from our cat the other day and if you hold the box you can hear her purring and we've heard a couple of meows.
My fiance even heard her meowing in the car and before then she never believed in ghosts.

They may not neccessarily be there for anyone in particular the spirits probably remain there because they are somewhat attached to the property, where you live right now.
Don't get your house blessed it may upset the spirit they only way that seems to work is to perform an exorcism, ig it's a demon it may return exorcisms tend to not have much of an effect on demons fro some reason.
However if the spirit isn't huritng anyone in particular then leave it be. You should only concern yourself with it if hurts someone.
The dog's behavior can still be very frustrating if you leave them alone. I wonder how long this has been going on?

I noticed everytime I watch shows on Hauntings or read about them I learn something new everytime, apart from what I know already.
Ok as long as it doesn't hurt me or my pets or my family, I guess it's ok then! How am I supposed to know if I've upset it! Joanne this has been going on since day 1 with Daisy! It doesn't seem to bother Emma my guinea pig!
Trust me the spirit will let you know if you upset it, the signs will be there. It'll move objects around, open or slam doors, open cabinets in your kitchen. The worst thing it can do is choke you (or whoever is in your householf) or throw trhings at you. (That's when you need to get out).
Don't bless your home under any circumstances because more than likely the spirit will be enraged by it, by it doesn't want to cross over. Like i said don't try to talk to through an Ouija Board to find out why it's there's ypu may open a gateway fro others psirits to enter your home, don't even do EVP's for that matter. You should just leave it alone!
Remember all sorts of things can happen with a haunting concerning an upset or demonic spirit. If it later on threatens you or your family then have a priest perfrom an exorcism on the home unbless it's a demon you need to find somewhere else to live, demons can't be taken down that easily. I'm not trying to scare you or anything but these are possibilities of what may happen.

Well has anyone heard of "Hungry Ghosts" which is another term for spirits, I learned about that yesterday while watching A Haunting. Hungry Ghosts are spirits that come back because they don't have what they need in the afterlife, like money, food, and etc. They also draw energy from the living in order to survive.
Sort of. I think I've been drained of energy by a "psychical vampire." It was kind of strange. I have a question for anyone. I think one of my friends is either possessed or working with evil spirits and don't know how I know this or why, but are there ways so find out? Just wondering, it may be just a hunch. He seems somehow different in that respect.
If your friend is possessed only an exorcism can rid him of it. If he's working with demons he needs to stop at once or his life may be taken, demons are mercilous creatures.
Like name off anything ouf ordinary he's been doign that way I can better pin point the porblem. When someone's possessed they'll say things "God, can't help you now" or saying things or hurting people he'd normally never hurt or something in that manner. Uusally they don't make sense when the demon is speaking for him. Alot of endings to haunting stories concerning demons si that the resident is finally forced to move because they fear for their own or for their families lives. Demons are not to be taken to lightly they are very dangerous.
Don't bless the hous elike I said above it enrages spirits even demons and even if you do an exorcism on the house dosen't mean the demons are gone for good, they make their way back into your home somehow.

Yeah I heard of and believe in Alien Abductions, that's where they take people up into their ships and do sexual and testing-like stuff to them. The women probably get the worst end of it, they'll Abduct a pregnant woman a take out the unborn child and place it into one of the female aliens aboard the ship, (I guess they can't reproduce or something).
Yeah so Aliens take your children, sad isn't it. In some cases they'll surgicly place a small device into you tissue so they can keep track of your whereabouts. Yet the Alien's nature is still unknown to us, I hope they don't decide to attack otherwise were doomed.
COW MUDALATIONS
Alright have you ever heard of Aliens killing cows and mudalating them like taking outt heir tougue, utters, and etc... I just want to know why on earth would they need stuff like this? I imagine when this happens to someone who works with cattle out in the field and finds a cow like this leaves them puzzeled.
There non-sexuals, that's why they cant reproduce. Also, I've also been told, by other people, and other aliens themselves, that there are direct operatives from a civilization near the zeta reticuli, which I believe is near andromeda but I may be wrong. I personally never been truly abducted, but I've been able to communicate to certain ones, if my filters are down. Its hard to explain, but if you keep your mind blank for ten seconds and concentrate on someone, you can get certain concepts/images. I sometimes works. Meditation every day for me helps the process along greatly. I've got to go, but I'd like to talk of this more sometime. Damn. I won't let this board die!!!
Well once on UFO Files they were talking about abductions and some lady asked an alien where they were from and they showed her a star map that looked exactly like the Orion's Belt, pictures NASA had at their desposal. Even if we did manage to find where they are from there's no possible way man could amke it there. There's just be a dead crew aboard the ship byt he time it arrived on their planet.
What I'm most concerned with is what is their intentions. Why haven't they came down to befriend our planet's inhabititants and share their knowlegde with us. If they were frienly they wouldn't be hiding in the shadows like they are now. "wonders"
There are many reasons why they won't "come out of the shadows." Some of there intentions aren't good ones at all. In fact, some are just plin strange. They have hybrids on earth. I have been told that there waiting for a big event. I didn't get much more than that. Some aliens have suggested that there will be a big shock to us. I'm not sure what that means, but, I wonder if that is good or bad. It seems bad. I don't really know much more than that about this particular rpart of the subject.
And the implants your talking about are rare.They do exist, as well as an implant to help yo have psychic abilities and such.

Nope, you can only stall time with an excorism for let's say 3 months, then they'll return.
Well I take it they're evil from what you described, I guess they're waiting for their conrads to showup and invade the planet. One of my most feared Doomsday Scenerios. We don't stand much of a chance we might as well resign to our fates if and when this said "event" takes place. The only way we can stall or death is by hiding. I fear for the planet's future.
The weapons we have will have no effect if they have energy shields, unless there was a way to ceaze one of their ships and fly it to the mothership and plant a vrius in the systems, that'd give us a chance to win. That idea should work if they attack.
I imagine they'll conguer the large cities, I mean it'd make sense right, so just evacuate the population elsewhere, before they strike.
I hope I'm wrong about all this and they exchage useful knowledge with us instead. Scientists claim that any contact with Aliens at all isn't advisable because they're technology is far greater than our own and condier us peons and wipe us off the face of the planet since we haven't really advanced any further as far technology goes.
Well if they do attack, there is a is a group of aliens called hyperversals that elledgedly created the universe. I'm no expert on them, but they've had problems in the past and barely managed to get there shit together and create a "new universe." Well anyway, they can stop anything from happening. Its happened before. For instance a car, it will simply stop working. So if the greys and verdants do attack, its most likely gonna be stopped by them. They have shields around them/there ships that makes them invisible. There always around earth it is said. They want to contact us but there afraid, and there's little hope for them. The older ones have seen so much termoil that there cynical and dark. One thing's for sure, they will prevent it.
I hope your right, we could use the helping hand, they could'v been the ones who stopped that nuclear weapon a long time ago.

Right not only did I expeience stuff at my parent's house but last night when I got to my house and went to bed, I felt something jump ontot he bed and my covers tightened up around my legs. I own a cat but she wasn't on the bed with me. I thought that strange. I heard a faint voice also but these spirits don't speak loud enough for me to make out what they're saying.
I had this expeience I think before but this time it was a bit stronger than other times. I hear footsteps to from time to time over here. I wonder if the spirit followed me home or something. I just blew it off I was just like "my luck can't be this bad".
aww, weird. huggles. well, this is why and how i believe in mediums. i was attending a psychic supper and a medium sits at your table. it was my turn and my best friend had been dead a good while. she described her perfectly and gave me a message from my friend. My nickname was used in the message that my friend always called me and after that, she said you've got to stop crying. that's why i believe in them.

when I was little, it was during the night, I was sleeping in my bed, mom and dad and rest of my family were sleeping too. All of a sudden, I felt a slap and heard a slap on the arm then got thrown in the middle of my bed! It was extremely scary! Can you tell me what you think happened?

Does your camera have to be on the flash setting when your taking pictures of ghosts? I'm not entirely sure, is why I'm asking.
I've had some incounters with ghosts I think. I remember after my mom died you could smell coffie in the house. My step dad had gotten rid of her coffie pot but you could smell the coffie. I didn't tell anyone this because I was concerned that some one would tell my social worker at school then who knows what would have happened after that. I remember another time when we were about to move and I could feel a presence in my room. I would try to speak to whoever was haunting our house but I got no responses. I even used a tape recorder to see if I coould catch some sounds but that didn't work.
About a year ago, I got home from school once and went up to my room. I don't know why I did this, but when I walked in my room and said "hellow". I told someone at school the next day and she said that I might have left something like the tv or radio turned on, but I know I didn't. I have never told any of my family about this and have only told one friend. Sometimes, when I'm just sitting down or lying down, I think it feels like someone is watching me. For example, I was sitting in the dining room at home once and I thought that Mum had come in and was just standing there watching me, but she was still in the living room. I didn't bother asking her if she had come in the dining room, because I knew what she would say.

oh wow. i have had alot of paranormal experiences. it first happened when my aunt died. my sister and i had flown to alabama that morning. that evening, just as my dad got the cell phone call that my aunt had passed, i looked out the window, and saw 2 angels carrying something between them. they were floating along beside the truck for a few minutes, then they ascended into the sky. i told my family this and asked them if they saw it. they said no. then my cousin says, maybe she wanted to tell u that she loved u before her spirit was taken.
and this other time, i felt spirits in the previous house where i was living. it must have been a bad spirit because i felt the air kind of get really heavy around me and i felt unhappiness. and there was another bad spirit in the stairwell as well. the first spirit was in the downstairs section of the house where my neighbors were living, and the second spirit was in the part of the house that i was living in. the spirit did not come farther in the house though. it just stayed in the stairwell.
In our old house, I didn't really notice anything, but Mum said she went downstairs at about 2 or 3 in the morning for the first few months we were there and found all the downstairs lights turned on and the shoelaces of her porselain dolls undone. She also said that a couple of months before we moved out of the house, she was standing at the bottom of the stairs and should have been able to see the light from the bathroom upstairs, but couldn't because it was just like someone was standing there at the top of the stairs between the bathroom and the window.

my mother has seen spirits of indians too in my uncles old house. but her most recent encounter was when she was in the hospital. she claimed she saw jesus sillhouetted on the window. she asked the nurses to wash the window. they said that there was nothing there. so they washed it and my mom still saw the silhouette.
here's a thought, what do u think about excersisms and being possessed by demons? i saw the excersism of Emily Rose yesterday and it both scared and saddened me..
I must have missed this board when it was first posted last year. I have had lots of encounters with spirits and other "paranormal" phenomena. The biggest one that comes to mind was a few years ago. I was at my mom's house for mother's day. It was just my mom, pop, amd myself. We were about to sit down to dinner. I was already at the table and they were both bringing in plates. Just to explain a little about my vision, I only have light perception in my central vision, and a little more than shadows periferily. sorry for the spelling, smile. Wel anyone, I was sitting at the table and the drinks were on the table. I was looking straight ahead so didn't see it at first, but my mom starts yelling, asking me what the hell I was doing. She said put the table down. So I looked down, and sure enough, the entire table was off the ground. not one side, the whole thing, straight off the floor. She was trying to push it down, and the damn thing would not return to the floor. My pop was just standing there, completely stunned, as my literally climbed on the table to try to push it down. Finally, it returned to the floor, and not a drop from the glasses of soda was spilled. It was incredible. Just for the record, both my mom and pop are fully sighted, and I, once I looked, saw the table up to my chin, so I wasn't just going by what they said.

I've got one. I was lying in my bed, about to go to sleep, when suddenly it was one of those completely random moments when you wake up with a start and here I was in this giant crystal tube on a blue striped shelf with something beeping above me, and there was all this flowy silver mist below me, and a silver net above me, and in that silver net was this really strange being, and it flicked something silver at me which formed in to another net over me, and it said, Let all with evil intent see my mark and leave you alone.
